A live print station earns its keep when people can see it, reach it and get through it quickly. The largest room in the venue isn't automatically that place. Here's how we choose.
Decide what it's there to do
Collecting leads? Put it on the exhibit floor or in a sponsor lounge at SAFE Credit Union Convention Center. After photos and posts? A patio, a rooftop or a Midtown storefront gives better light and a better backdrop. Giving gifts? Place it by check-in, by the bar during cocktails, or by the door on the way out.
Parts of the region, and what they're like
- Downtown & DOCO: the convention center, Golden 1 Center, the theaters and hotels around the Capitol.
- Midtown: lofts, warehouses and storefront pop-ups.
- Old Sacramento: riverfront festivals and evening events in historic buildings.
- East Sacramento: house parties, garden receptions and private dinners.
- Natomas: office campuses and expo-style company events.
- Roseville: corporate offices, hotel ballrooms and retail promotions.
What the spot has to have
Roughly a ten-foot square, two dedicated 120V circuits, a level surface and a line that doesn't cross an exit or a catering path. Outdoors in a Sacramento summer, add shade overhead and a covered place to keep blanks.
Rule of thumb: a spot that fits a merch table and a short line will usually fit a live station. Send the floor plan and we'll point out any power or access problems before quoting.
Sacramento planning
Access, neighborhood by neighborhood
Downtown halls give you a dock time. In Old Sacramento the question is where the truck can stop on the historic streets. Midtown depends on the lift, and an East Sacramento house can mean front steps or a side gate.
Send the address with your first email, so the crew can plan the unload before leaving Fullerton.
