One live printing press prints up to 60 shirts an hour. Our standard Sacramento build is two presses with two printers, and that pair clears 100+ an hour while the line keeps feeding it. A guest waits roughly two minutes from picking a design to wearing it.
Treat those as ceilings. A four-color design takes longer per pull than a one-color logo, hoodies take longer than tees, and a guest who can't decide holds up everyone behind them. DTF and the hat bar keep their own pace, so we count them as separate stations when we size an event.
Sizing live printing to a Sacramento headcount
- Under about 150 guests: one two-press station. A Midtown gallery night or an East Sacramento reception lands here.
- Roughly 150 to 400: a third press or a second station, so the wait stays short. Think a company day in Natomas or a Roseville corporate event.
- 400 and up, or a crowd that arrives at once: several stations. That's the build for a SAFE Credit Union Convention Center booth, a Cal Expo festival gate or a Kings game-day activation.
The pace belongs to the press, so the numbers hold anywhere. What Sacramento changes is how the crowd shows up. A convention aisle feeds the station all day. Delegates at an association summit come out in bursts between sessions. A Golden 1 Center crowd hits the table before tip-off. Tell us which pattern you have and we'll count presses from there.
Where a Sacramento live t-shirt printing line slows down
The press is rarely the slow part. The line backs up at the design board and the size wall, where guests stop to pick a print and dig for an XL. At about two minutes a shirt and 100+ an hour from one two-press station, 250 guests working a SAFE Credit Union Convention Center booth take around two and a half hours. When they all show up at once, like the hour before tip-off at Golden 1 Center, we add a second press so nobody misses the game standing in line. July and August afternoons at Cal Expo run hot, so outdoor setups get shade over the presses and the ink stays out of the sun. Live embroidery and the hat bar in Sacramento each run their own line, so count those guests separately. The truck leaves Fullerton loaded for the press count we agree on and drives up the I-5 the day before, so settle that number before it rolls.
